Hungary’s Red Line From Toxic Waste Flood

Back in 2010, what is widely considered Hungry’s worst toxic spill, over 1 million cubic feet of alumina sledge leaked out the manufacturing plant when the retraining wall was damaged causing the sludge to cover the surrounding town. These photos show what remained after the cleanup – a distinctive red line all across town.
